Construction on Macon Arena Begins
Macon-Bibb County marked an exciting milestone with the groundbreaking of the new Macon Arena. Community members, project partners, students and local leaders gathered to celebrate the start of construction on the 230,000-square-foot venue, which will replace the nearly 60-year-old Macon Coliseum.
Designed by PBK, the new arena will provide a flexible space for sports, concerts, community events, graduations and more, while also creating opportunities for student learning and workforce development.
The celebration marked the beginning of a project that will serve Macon-Bibb County for generations to come.
