YMCA Partnership Middle School Featured in Florida/Caribbean Architect

YMCA Partnership Middle School

The YMCA Partnership Middle School, an innovative collaboration between Speer YMCA and Mangrove Bay Middle School, is redefining what it means to combine education and wellness in a single, community-centered campus.

Featured in Florida/Caribbean Architect alongside project leaders Amy Weber Bradlow and Jose Gomez, the school stands as a model for shared-use design and holistic development.

As noted in the feature, “Both a YMCA and school need a range of athletic facilities and gathering spaces, so merging them into a single building eliminates the need for redundant construction.”

This state-of-the-art middle school includes specialized classrooms and a magnet program dedicated to youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. The adjoining YMCA complements the academic environment with amenities such as a fitness center, lap pool, wellness terrace, and childcare services—all integrated to serve both students and the broader community.

We were honored to collaborate with WJArchitects on this visionary project, where shared resources support shared goals—and where learning and wellness thrive together.
