The Marek-Smith Center for Teacher Preparation will serve as the premier center for special education training and instruction in the country and enable UMHB’s College of Education to continue to train and inspire college students to pursue a career in special education. The new 11,000 SF will include offices, waiting rooms, a lobby, immersion room, two academic rooms, a sensory room, classrooms, two general education rooms, three 1:1 rooms, a play ground with a sensory garden, restrooms, storage and support spaces.
