The new 500,000 square foot Lakeside International Bilingual School was designed in partnership with Eastern China Engineering Company and Technology Co., Ltd. (ECEC) in response to a prestigious international design competition. The competition was open to both international and Chinese design firms and attracted 11 other impressive entries. The site is located in the Hefei Binhu New District of Anhui, China and is programmed to serve students from grades K thru 12. The unique theme of “WAVE” was applied to all the exterior and interior aspects of the design. Next Gen learning spaces have a strong presence throughout the campus in such spaces as the collaboration hub and outdoor learning platform connecting all schools, activity and dormitory buildings. The design proposal was awarded third place by a professional jury and solidified PBK’s presence in the international community.
