Husky Commons Interior Design and Branding

A familiar campus destination shaped by design and identity.

Client: University of Washington, Tacoma
Market: Higher Education
Scope: Interior design and graphics within an already-completed building

A Place for Everyday Campus Life

Located on the ground floor of the existing Tacoma Paper & Stationery Building, Husky Commons brings everyday amenities and student activities together in a shared campus destination. Home to Husky Market, the space supports the rhythms of campus life while providing opportunities for students to gather, connect and take a break between classes.

Bringing Campus Identity Inside

McGranahanPBK’s interior design and environmental graphics help shape the Commons experience, creating a visual identity that connects the space to the broader University of Washington Tacoma campus. Graphic elements and branding contribute to a cohesive environment that feels distinctly connected to the university and its community.

Design That Supports Connection

Through interior design and graphics, the project demonstrates how thoughtful interventions within an existing building can strengthen the character and function of a campus destination. The result is an environment that supports student activities, everyday convenience and a sense of connection to the university community.
