The project, located in the historic downtown area, is anchoring an urban revitalization program as the educational component. The building’s architecture integrates elements of several existing downtown buildings. The result is a modern, high-tech facility on the inside that maintains the character of the downtown on the outside. The center, largely funded by a federal EDA Grant, houses classrooms, computer labs, vocational shops, administration, and a career center. It provides job and basic skills training, as well as job placement and career counseling services.
