Market: K12 Education
Discipline: Architecture + Interiors
Project Area: 92,823 sq. ft.
Awards:
TASA-TASB Award for Architectural Excellence: Design, Sustainability

This unique project took full advantage of PBK’s High Performance Design Process during early planning phases. A custom workbook was developed by PBK’s High Performance Studio to facilitate a LEED Design Charrette.

Besides being a high performance school, this campus is unique in that it is shared between the school district and City of El Paso Parks and Recreation Department. The public has after-hours access and usage of the gymnasium. Another unique feature of the school is its proximity to an archeological site called Madera Pueblo - an active settlement of Native Americans in the 14th century. Architectural vocabulary, displays in prominent locations within the school, and a bridge is designed to connect pedestrians to the historic nature of the site.
