Cunningham Middle School at South Park Replacement

The South Park/Cunningham Consolidated Middle School is based on our original award-winning, Next-Generation design for Dorothy Adkins Middle School also in Corpus Christi ISD. PBK is working with CCISD administration, faculty, and maintenance staff to upgrade this prototype campus which is designed to be a safe, active, technology-rich, engaging learning environment. The school is organized using the concept of Small Learning Communities which help personalize instruction and create a familiar “neighborhood” for students. The building’s main focus remains the Student Commons and Media Center located off the main entrance. This space creates a connection while acoustically separating the Academic Wing from the Fine Arts/Athletics area (quiet vs. loud areas). It also provides outdoor learning spaces and identifies the facility’s grand entrance.
