Core Lab Consolidation

In an effort to formalize a system-wide center of excellence for laboratory management and service delivery, Memorial Hermann engaged PBK to develop a new organizational framework for the system’s Core Lab Services. By locating a central position at the Southwest Memorial Hermann Campus, available real estate within the existing facility was identified to enable expansion of the previous Southwest Lab. A phased approach was utilized to relocate adjacent departments, proceeded by the design of a cohesive Core Lab involving Chemistry, Immunology, Molecular Medicine, Cytology, Microbiology and Virology along with Specimen Processing, Client Services, and Centralized Refrigeration Support.
