Columbia County Performing Arts Center

The government of Columbia County, Georgia commissioned CGD to design a new performing arts center that will anchor a new mixed-use development establishing a town center for the rapidly growing community of Evans, Georgia. Envisioned as a concert hall & theatre to seat 2,062 patrons, the building will serve as the primary public building within a master planned community that will include, retail, office and residential uses to be built in several phases over the next decade. In addition to the primary performance venue, planned to accommodate a variety of genres of music and theatre, the building will include a multipurpose events room and a museum to feature local history of the region. As the anchor of the overall development, the design is envisioned to have a strong traditional character to establish a sense of the public domain yet constructed with simple and refined lines to lend a contemporary flair.
