Kevin Fleming
Kevin is a highly experienced educational architect with more than 35 years of experience designing learning environments for California public school and community college clients. Since 1990, he has led projects through every phase of development, from programming and planning through construction, bringing a collaborative and integrated approach that supports the evolving needs of students, educators, and communities.
Passionate about the impact educational design has on student achievement, Kevin focuses on creating student-centered, technology-rich environments that foster engagement, flexibility, and long-term success. He is known for building strong consensus among clients, stakeholders, and project teams, guiding complex projects with thoughtful leadership and a deep understanding of educational planning, sustainability, and design strategy.
Throughout his career, Kevin has led multidisciplinary teams across a wide range of educational projects, overseeing design direction, programming, site planning, material selection, project management, financial oversight, and agency coordination. He has also played a significant leadership role in advancing sustainable design practices, championing strategies that integrate LEED, CHPS, and high-performance design principles into the core of the architectural process.
In addition to his project work, Kevin has remained actively involved in the educational facilities community through board leadership, legislative advisory roles, conference presentations, and mentorship. He is a registered architect in the State of California, a LEED Accredited Professional, and a member of the American Institute of Architects (AIA) and the Coalition for Adequate School Housing (CASH).
