Managing Partner Bob Lavey Connects Thought Leaders with the Los Angeles Community

As part of its mission, PBK celebrates its team members who connect with and strengthen their communities. In 2016, Managing Partner Bob Lavey joined Los Angeles Headquarters Association (LAHq) as a board member, and today serves as the organization’s President.

“It’s an incredible organization to be a part of,” Bob shares. “LAHq is a great group of people. It brings current issues facing our community to the forefront for discussion by the A/E/C industry, and it connects us with government officials and leaders to start a dialogue on major initiatives in the City.”

As President, Bob played master of ceremonies at the recent LAHq’s 59th Annual Awards Luncheon, welcoming members, sponsors, and community members to celebrate honorees who enhanced the Los Angeles community. Awards were presented to the Ford Amphitheatre, Compton College, the Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena, and retired LA County CEO Sachi Hamai, who was awarded the Public Service Award for her impact on the county and Asian American community in the region. Bob also presented Manny Mota of the LA Dodgers with the Spirit of Los Angeles Award, coming off their World Series win that raised community spirits during an unprecedented year.

LAHq is committed to maintaining and growing businesses in Los Angeles County. It helps provide members with specific and comprehensive knowledge of local markets through monthly networking with organizations, business leaders, and local government officials. Bob’s leadership helps connect key thought leaders in the A/E/C industry with new opportunities across the LA region.

“Los Angeles isn’t as contained as people think,” Bob said recently. “It’s important to recognize the diversity – in terms of projects, people, needs – that we have across this huge urban environment and better understand how we can serve them as architects and designers.”

Lavey was born and raised in the Los Angeles area and has spent much of his career in the Los Angeles A/E/C industry. His continued focus as President of LAHq is on the impact design can have on local business, especially considering recent turbulence.

PBK is proud of our team members who invest their time and experience toward organizations that are making a difference in the communities where we live and work. We are honored to support Managing Partner Bob Lavey in his work at Los Angeles Headquarters Association.
